Aayur Ceylon Spices
Black Pepper
Pepper is popularly known as the “King of Spices” and enjoys a large share of the international spice trade. It is the most widely used spice in the world. Black pepper is formed from the mature berries of the woody perennial evergreen climbing vine, the Piper nigrum. When dried and crushed it provides a unique spice and seasoning to food.
Our white pepper is of a similar high quality.
- Moisture – 12% Maximum
- Density – 570gl-630gl
- Pale white to Brownish white
We select only high density, early harvest berries which are deep in color. This is a sign of a pepper that has been harvested at the right time and that has been properly cured and dried. The dark colour is indicative of an early harvest, when the fresh peppercorns are still yellow-green in colour. Black peppercorns harvested at that stage have a fleeting hotness and a fresh taste. As a result, our black pepper has a quick bite and a lingering aroma. A quality pepper for your pepper mill.
The specification of our locally harvested black pepper is second to none.
- Moisture – 13-14% Maximum
- Density – 500gl, 525gl, 550gl

Cardamom
The “Queen of Spice” has established its own niche market in the world of spices and the Sri Lankan spice is sought after by international buyers. It is an expensive spice, as unlike other products, it has to be harvested by hand. The Ceylon cardamom is particularly unique and is a unique product of our climate and terrain – the green cardamom has a flavour of its own. Its use beyond food flavouring is many, and is used as a natural preservative, a beauty product, as well as offering health benefits to the pharmaceutical industry
Dried Ginger
We use high quality, fresh ginger in our processing plant to maximise both taste and aroma. SCCS International has invested in advanced machinery, which utilizes the latest innovative technologies and methods. Firstly, the fresh ginger roots are cleaned thoroughly then are dried in the sunlight for some days until the juice dries out. The plant stem or rhizome is dried to 10% to 12 % moisture content. It is then presented in either a split or sliced form.
In addition to its taste, dried ginger offers several health benefits, most notably the facilitation of weight loss through improved digestion.
